Why hotels use color-coded key tags
A front-desk drawer full of identical keys is a daily operational problem.
Color coding makes the key self-sorting: by floor or building, by key type (master, guest room, back-of-house, storage, service), by status (spare, out-of-order, pending return), or by property for multi-site groups. The tag body stays in service; the paper insert carries the room number. When a room is renumbered, staff replace the insert instead of the whole tag.

Choose the right tag for hotel use
Label-window tags protect a replaceable paper insert and are the most flexible option for room-number changes.
Flip-cover tags hide the insert until it is lifted and suit guest-facing keys. PP ID Window tags carry printed name, address, city and country lines for keys that travel off-site. House-shaped tags suit motels and guest houses. PP luggage tags match the key tags for the same property. Order a stock sample of two or three models and test them at the front desk.
Ordering
Room changes, reorders and lead time
Replace the paper insert when a room is renumbered; keep the tag body and ring.
Keep the same model and color rule for repeat orders so new tags match the old ones. Stocked colors can be combined in one order, but the 500-piece MOQ applies per color. Stock samples are free; you pay the courier. Production takes 10–25 working days after sample confirmation.
